This product doesn't actually charge the device, it only makes it power up, so it must be plugged into at all times. Additionally, several times through out the trip it "reboots" the Garmin as though it is syncing to a computer, then goes back to the map of where you are going, but if you were supposed to make a turn during that process, you just missed it.

I think they don't know how to put together a charger. It broke and I didn't have gps for half my trip. Not happy

Do not by this product. It is just junk. It did not work with the Garmin as advertised so I used it for my MP3. It did not last a week and simply fell apart. I did not expect much for this price but it is not worth the cost of shipping.

You get what you pay for! My garmin will only charge if the car is on, and while it is charging I can't see any maps etc on it. When I need to see the maps and get directions I have to unplug the charger and then the battery only lasts 30 min or less. Not good for long trips. Not good in general.
