I used the Kenwood to update the old radio/cassette desk in my aging Subaru. I didn't really expect any increase in performance, I just needed to be able to play CD's instead of the now-obsolete cassettes.
What a pleasant surprise! Even through the stock speakers, the sound quality and power output put my OEM unit to shame. I'm going to upgrade to sturdier speakers to absorb the extra wattage.
One caveat: You'll probably need to order the appropriate wiring harness to make this work in your particular car.
Given the sub-$100 price, this is one of the best values I've ever seen (or heard).
Highly recommended.

I bought this CD receiver for my husbands 1996 Toyota Camry to replace the bulky Disc Changer that came with the car. We tried to hook it up ourselves but were unable to. We took it to a professional and they hooked it up. Even with the additional cost of the installation this was a great deal. It sounds wonderful, with a full bodied sound. I also like the inputs for the mp3 as I produce my husbands music, he can review a song on his way to work save me from having to burn a disc. It does everything I expect in a car CD player and more. I am very pleased.

The face plate has a feature where if there is any (i repeat any) moisture in the air it will read protect and the radio is unuseable.
It must be reset which is easy enough except now you have to reset preferences again.
If you get out of the car, you get to do it again.
If you live in a location where there is even a remote possibility of weather changes.
Do not buy this product.
The operators manual described the problem in detail.
Too bad I bought the product before I read that manual.
